ESPN’s Jay Williams hangs with Justin Bieber, reminds everyone he’s a Dukie

Jay Williams has done an admirable job re-building his life. He was a national player of the year and a national champion at Duke before getting picked No. 2 overall in 2002 by the Bulls. After his rookie year, Williams crashed his motorcycle and was left with such bad injuries that he is lucky they can now be described simply as career-ending. But rather than wallow in the failure to achieve his NBA dreams, Williams subsequently re-surfaced as a college basketball analyst on ESPN and a motivational speaker.

In the past few days, according to his Twitter feed, Williams had been vacationing in the resort town of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Pretty nice!

Uh oh. Just when things were looking up for Williams, he decided to sing the praises of one the most widely loathed people in the Western Hemisphere (cut to a shot of the Eastern Hemisphere, going, “Hey, we’re not the ones who foisted him on the world!”)

Now, in fairness to Williams, he didn’t actually say whether Bieber was changing lives for the better. Nevertheless, Williams set himself up to get roasted by the Twitterverse.
