Jadakiss Names The Rappers Keeping New York Alive

Jadakiss recently named the rappers he feels are holding New York down. There have been a lot of talk about New York Rap going underground, and just the whole East Coast loosing the dorminance to the south. I think, the west held it down in the early 90's, then puff & big brought it to the east in the mid 90s and it stretched to the late 90s...and maybe the early 00s. It was in the mid 00s that the south took over. No disrespectr to the people of the south, but i wasn't really feeling the souths' sanp music...and, apart from Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Chamillionaire, Young Jeezy  and a couple of other rappers, i wasn't feling the south.

I think the southern dormince is over no, and hip hop is not dorminated by any coast or side. What is happening now is clique dorminace. You have...Okay, before i get lost in my talk, let me allow you read what Jadakiss said about the rappers holding down New York-

"I feel New York is doing d*mn good," Kiss said in an interview. "You still got me here, [Styles P], Sheek Louch, Fab, Uncle Murda, Maino, Joell Ortiz, Nas, Hov, you know. New cats, Fred the Godson, we good. We'll be all right. Don't worry about New York at all. We're gonna be around. When the trumpets blow, we're still gonna be here. For real." ("Femme Fatale Mixshow")

Yeah, i cosign his list. Fab is one outstanding dude; he blends everyhere and he doenst have a clique...he is a movement on his own. And it is just so incredible that he has been able to stay relevant through all the eras. He has this quality of being able to do gangster rap, and songs for the ladies. I think it is just so incredible, and i think this is what has kept him relevant for this long.

I think i need to add Busta Ryhmes to the list of rappers holding New York down. I always like when Busta gets on a song with all these new cats and gives them a lyrical spanking. Busta has ben in the game for almost 20 years, and he can still get on a Chris Brown song and make it hot. He really made Lil Wayne switch it up on that Look At Me Now (Explicit Version) track; that is what i love about New York rappers, and the whole east in general. Most of the east coast rappers are from New York anyway, so when jada is talking about New York holding it down, he is still talking about the east in general. A couple of rappers like Cassidy, Eve, Black Thought, Charli Baltimore, Freeway, Beanie Sigel... from Philidelphia are also just as dope as New York rappers. In fact, sometimes, most of them move over to New York, so they blend in.

Going back to what i was saying earlier- there is really no coast dorminating rap now. If you ook at the top selling rappers of recent- Eminem (mid west), Lil Wayne (South), Jay-Z (East), Kanye West (mid west), Drake (Canada), Rick Ross (South)... you would know there is really no side holding it down. I think people are starting to blend together, regardless of where they are from.
